Exercise in the form of weight bearing (walking, running, aerobics,) or resistance exercises (weight training), will help maintain important muscle mass and enhance every day activities as well as preventing injury.  

Keeping muscles functioning as we age means we can lessen the risk of falls and injury.  Therefore, whatever your age it's important to incorporate these type of exercises into your lifestyle, whether it be joining an over 60's class and walking for the older generation, or joining a gym, having a personal trainer or taking up a sport you enjoy.
